André L. Marcus is a professional saxophonist, band director, educator, and founder of SmoothSax Music. Known for his warm tone, soulful sound, and expressive approach to the alto saxophone, André creates music that helps every moment feel meaningful, personal, and unforgettable.
His musical journey has taken him across the country and around the world, with performances in cities throughout the United States and abroad. Whether performing for corporate events, galas, private celebrations, community programs, restaurants, nonprofit fundraisers, or special presentations, André brings a professional presence and a heartfelt musical experience to every stage.
André’s sound is shaped by a deep love for jazz, gospel, R&B, soul, and classic popular music. His influences include John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Earth, Wind & Fire, and many other artists who helped define excellence in music. Their creativity, freedom, discipline, and passion continue to inspire the way André performs, teaches, and leads.
SmoothSax Music was founded in 2008 as a way to share André’s love of music with the community. What began as a performance brand has grown into a broader mission centered on live music, arts education, youth engagement, and positive community experiences. Through SmoothSax Music, André provides elegant solo saxophone entertainment for special events, while iAM uNique Music offers expanded live entertainment options featuring musicians and vocalists for larger occasions.
In addition to performing, André serves as Band Director at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, where he helps develop the next generation of musicians and community artists. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence, mentorship, creativity, and music that reaches people beyond the notes.
