André L. Marcus is a gifted and very talented saxophonist who believes in real music. He, and his Alto Saxophone Lucy, have performed in cities across the country as well as 10 other countries. Many great awards and honors have been bestowed upon him, but he knows that it is God who deserves all honor. For André is just the vessel that God is speaking through. In a recent feature, it was said that he had old bones, an old soul, but the energy and lungs of a teenager.

John Coltrane (Tenor Saxophonist and Flutist) has had the greatest influence on him and his style, than anyone else in music. He loves the way he expressed himself so freely. He is mesmerized at how Coltrane could turned the most basic of tunes into a masterpiece. He loves his intensity level, even on ballad arrangements.

André also appreciates and honors the other great musicians who came before him and helped lead the jazz revolution. Charlie "Bird" Parker, Duke Ellington, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Luther, Vandross, and Stevie Wonder just to wet the reed. Finally, groups like Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Commodores, and all of the other artists that strive for excellence in music
